Email archiving to SQL, SQL Express or
MSDE
Policy Patrol archives messages into Microsoft
SQL server when they are sent and received. If
the SQL server is down, Policy Patrol will temporarily
save the messages until they can be written to
the archive. In this way, no messages can be missing
from the archive. If you prefer not to invest
in Microsoft SQL Server, you can also use SQL
Server Express or MSDE at no additional cost.
Up-to-the minute email backup security
Policy Patrol Archiver can be used as an additional
backup method. If disaster strikes, your last
Exchange backup tape is not likely to be any more
recent than yesterday's emails. However, with
email archiving enabled, Policy Patrol Archiver
will provide you with a backup of all emails sent
and received right up to the last minute. You
will never lose a single email again.
Allow users to retrieve & restore
their own emails
Users can easily retrieve and restore their own
emails by using the Email Restore client, a Microsoft
Outlook add-in. Users can search for words in
the email body and subject, addresses and attachment
names. Advanced searches can use the Boolean strings
AND, OR, and NOT.
Allow Administrators to retrieve &
restore all emails
Administrators can search, retrieve and restore
user messages via the Administration console.
You can also configure the program to automatically
purge emails from the database that are older
than a specified number of days, months or years.
Search and retrieve deleted emails
Since Policy Patrol Archiver archives emails when
they are sent and received, even if a user deletes
an email from his or her in-box the email will
still be in the Policy Patrol archive. If for
example Human Resources needs to track email policy
violations, and search the Policy Patrol email
archive, they will find all messages, including
those purposefully deleted.
