Compress attachments
Policy Patrol Zip can compress all attachments,
or only attachments of a certain size or format.
You can compress attachments into one zipped archive
or into separate archives for each attachment.
Passwords can be applied to zipped archives.
Decompress attachments
Policy Patrol Zip can automatically decompress
zipped archives to save users time unzipping the
attachments themselves. By indicating a maximum
extracted file size, you can prevent attachments
from becoming too large.
Internal email and external email compression
Attachments can be compressed and decompressed
for external and internal emails (if installed
on Exchange Server 2007, 2003 or 2000). Since
Policy Patrol Zip can distinguish between internally
and externally sent mails, different compression
rules can be applied to each.
User-based rules
Compression rules can be applied to selected users,
groups, or domains and can have user or group
exclusions.
Condition-based compression rules
Apart from attachment type and size, compression
or decompression rules can also trigger for only
certain recipients or when a specified code is
in the subject field. This code can then be removed
by Policy Patrol Zip before delivering the message.
Auto-replies
Policy Patrol Zip allows you to send auto-replies
for existing users and for employees who have
left your organization.
Exchange Server & Lotus Domino integration
Policy Patrol Zip works with Exchange Server 2007,
2003, 2000 & 5.5 (or Windows Small Business
Server), Lotus Domino and any other SMTP mail
server.
Policy Patrol Zip takes full advantage of the
Active Directory structure, which enables you
to select users, groups, domains and contacts
from the Active Directory, and to retrieve user
properties for merge fields.
If you do not have Active Directory, Policy Patrol
Zip can also retrieve users & groups and their
properties from Exchange Server 5.5 and Lotus
Domino. Alternatively, you can import users from
a text file or manually enter users and their
email addresses.
