Nissan adds e-mail disclaimers
to Exchange 2000 with Policy Patrol
Carson City, NV - May 15, 2002 - Red Earth Software,
developer of e-mail policy enforcement solutions,
today announced that Nissan Ireland has deployed
a 250 user installation of Policy Patrol to add
e-mail disclaimers and signatures to their Exchange
2000 server. Nissan selected Policy Patrol for
its ease of use and ability to use Active Directory
fields. The program's user-based disclaimer functionality
and competitive price were further considerations
for choosing Policy Patrol.
'I am very impressed with the simplicity of Policy
Patrol's Active Directory integration and lack
of resource impact on existing IT administration
tasks,' said Rory Donnelly, General Manager I.T
& e-Commerce of Nissan Ireland. 'Before installing
Policy Patrol we were adding signatures and disclaimers
at the client side, so that every time we set
up a new user, we had to configure the signature
on the individual user's PC. Not only was this
time consuming, it also caused problems when the
user changed department, title or telephone number.'
'Now that we have deployed Policy Patrol, the
burden of this task has been significantly reduced,'
Rory Donnelly added. 'We have simply configured
one global signature with merge fields on our
Exchange 2000 server. For each outgoing mail Policy
Patrol automatically replaces the fields with
the sender's Active Directory properties, creating
a fully personalized signature. Furthermore, by
regularly synchronizing with the Active Directory,
Policy Patrol automatically updates any changes
made to the user properties.'
Policy Patrol
Policy Patrol adds user-based e-mail disclaimers
and signatures to internal and external e-mails.
The program includes advanced features such as
merge fields and support for formatting in a disclaimer.
These features make the disclaimer notices more
specific and distinguishable, thus improving their
effectiveness. Policy Patrol works with Exchange
Server 2000, 5.5, Lotus Notes/Domino and any other
SMTP mail server.
